Many years ago, I was involved with the Stargate SG1 mailing list "SamandMartouf" and when the time came for us to create an archive for our list, I volunteered. These were the days when fan-run archives for groups was the norm. Fanfiction.net was only recently launched, and remained more of a place to back up ones fic for archival purposes (if, say, you didn't have your own website).

Time passed, and the list's popularity waned. There was a lot of pressure on me, as the site manager, to switch to an auto-archive system, which I refused to do. I felt, and still feel, that the editorial gains of a human doing the formatting/approval/requesting to fill an archive outweighed the convenience of anyone being able to upload anything. This was not a popular decision. The hosting for the adult version went down, but I moved it to the free site where the main archive sat and kept both archives up for posterity.

Eventually, I received a lot of flak for my choice of hosting venues. Envy.nu was apparently letting a lot of spyware infect their ads. After a while, I got tired of the criticism, and I took the decision to kill the website. Doing so didn't receive a word of complaint, and so I assumed that no one was watching it anymore.

I decided to restore it here, for legacy purposes. I've put the sites up on the grounds that people did work hard to create this writing, and it wasn't perhaps fair of me to remove it. For now, this is a historical archive only. It will not be updated, and many of the email addresses contained within are dead. The site has not been updated since it was taken down. This is it, as it was last seen on the internet.
